This was a great find.  Thank you so much for a quiet and relaxing place.

Andrew and Becca - 7-10 to 7-13-2011
It's been three years since we were here last and we have enjoyed our stay here just as much as the first time.  Lots of rain this year has been unusual, but rain and all, it's been very relaxing.

We have used this as our home base and have been able to visit other nearby attractions in the area.  You have a beautiful place and everthing was very clean and nice in the cabin.  So long for now and I'm sure we will be back again.

Randy and Cheryl Murphy  7-3 to 7-7-2011
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, and taking care of us.

Mike, Sarah and Matt enjoyed fishing and we had a delicious fish fry our last night in the cabin.  I enjoyed watching the birds in the feeder every morning while I had my coffee on the swing on the porch.

Your bread was awesome.  We made toast with our eggs one morning,.  The flying squirrels were the best.  Thank you for sharing them with us.

The Piltavers - 6-25 to 7-2-2011

I love you soooooo much.  Thanks for letting us see the flying squirrels.  You are the nicest person I ever met.  Thanks for everything.
Sarah Piltaver

PS Thanks for your help with all the bumps and bruises that my family had.  (I'm a little scared cuz I'm next).  Still love you  Bye
Thank you. Thank you.  Thank you for the wonderful week - your cabin is truly a small piece of paradise.  We've been so stressed this year and it was great to just relax - I felt like I was in a bird sanctuary - I absolutely loved all the humming birds!!  They were dive bombing each other - I think I got some good pics.   Also, loved the white tipped (tail) squirrel and will send a pic - if it turns out.  Thanks for joining me to make cards - that was fun!  Mark caught lots of fish, so he got to do what he likes and I just relaxed.  We hope to come again - loved, loved, loved it!

Carol and Mark Betzynski - Caleb for 2 nights - 6-10-6-17, 2011

PS Love the Radio!
We had a great time here.  Everything was nice as always.  The fish were biting.  I'm sure we caught around 200 bass.  The weather wasn't all that great, but it didn't matter that much.  Nice get away from the everyday routine.  Good luck with everything.  Thanks,

Mike and Dee Dee 5-23-11
Nice, thanks,

Shawn and Aureola - 4-16 thru 18, 2011
Wow, Elayne!  You have found a little piece of heaven on earth!  Who would have believed it was in Indiana?!

You are truly an angel for letting us enjoy your cabin and lake.  We really enjoyed our stay here.  It was wonderful to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.  The peace and quiet was heavenly.  No phones, no computers.  It was just what we needed to unwind.  We were amazed at how bright the stars were at night.  Something we don't get to appreciate with the city lights.  And to see the deer just strolling through the back yard!  We will be back as often as possible!  Best wishes,

Mark and Jenny Anderson - 4-4-2011
We had a great time in your cabin.  Thanks for having us.  Thanks for the bread.  Had fun fishing and enjoyed the scenery.  Hope to come back soon.

Trenton and Talethea Nalley - 3-11 thru 13, 2011

Amanda and I enjoyed our time in your cabin and around Corydon very much.  You have built a wonderful hideaway here and we would love to come back again.

Abram McCalment  - 10-31-2010
Words can not express the feeling that you get by just the beauty of your place.  Thank you for sharing your place of heaven.  Everything was like home.  The bread was great.

This is just what we needed to regroup and focus on what God has given to all of us.

Thank you for your generosity.

Mike and Helen Smith - 10-10
We would like to thank you for everything.  This cabin is adorable.  We loved seeing all the birds, deer, and other animals come so close to the house.   Your cabin was the perfect weekend get-a-way.  It was way beyond our expectations!  Next time we will most certainly bring our fishing poles!  Thanks again.

Diana and Jimmy  Oct 17, 2010

David, Dian and Riane Cannon - 9-11 to 13, 2010
Elayne, words can't explain the serenity of it all. Your property is absolutely blissful and the calming effect it has is awesome. Thank you for opening up your cabin and sharing it and your entire property with others. You are definitely an example of God's work. We feel we have found our home away from home here at Elayne's cabin and definitely will be back. But next time will be for a much longer stay than 3 days. Elayne's hospitality (& Bailey!) has been the greatest. They, as well as the cabin have been so warm and inviting. Can't wait to come back. See you soon. God Bless.

Mike and Leigh Ann Mills - Sept 4 - 6, 2010
We came across the cabin on the internet and decided to come down. What a beautiful cabin and lake. The hummingbirds and butterflies were beautiful. My husband and I caught 11 bluegill - but of course, released them all. We also saw three deer and two turkeys running. The homemade bread was totally awesome. Elayne is a wonderful host. My husband plans on bringing our three sons soon!

Nathan and Tammi - Aug 19 & 20, 2010
We had the most wonderful, relaxing time swimming and being totally immersed in nature!! What a wonderful discovery, finding your beautiful cabin tucked away in these peaceful woods! We had a great two relaxing days, enjoying the butterflies, hummingbirds, and the lake. We caught two nice bass and two fat bluegills this morning. Saw two deer yesterday run across the road. Discovered the little glow bugs down near the lake, and I think my wife is going to do a research project on them. And, of course, the totally amazing amount of butterflies. I imagine this is what it is like in the rain forest - just huge clusters of beautiful multi-colored butterflies floating by and the hummingbirds

coming each morning.

Lynn and John - Aug 15 - 17, 2010
Gosh, what a hot summer weekend! We went fishing two days in a row, swimming once - peace and solitude for three days. Came down from Whiteland, IN on our motorccle and toured the curvy back roads. The weather was perfect. Thanks, Elayne, for opening up your place to us, and sharing your gift of baking bread. Also, the cabin was SO clean!

Connie and Bill - Aug 8 & 9, 2010
Thank you for opening your beautiful cabin and lake to visitors! We enjoyed the lake and woods and especially the fishing! Thanks for your hospitality and the herb bread. Virginia finally caught a fish! I've taken her to two other lakes and we were not successful there! Have a great summer!

The John Talley family - Aug 4 - 6, 2010
Thank you for the wonderul and peaceful time. Me, my husband and our daughter love it. My husband enjoyed fishing the most! We loved taking walks and watching the birds. We love nature and to just relax in the country. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We would definitely come back again. Thank you for the homemade bread!

Terisa, Tom, and Emily Vest - July 30 - Aug 1, 2010
Dear Elayne, thank you for sharing your cabin and grounds with us. My husband enjoyed catching bluegill ( his comment - there we no small ones) and bass. We also enjoyed the birds! Your cabin is perfect! Thanks. We used your cabin as a base point and visited Leavenworth (view to die for), Corydon, Huber Farms, Abbey Press, St. Meinred, French Lick, West Baden, Patoka Lake and Vincennes. Southern Indiana is rich in history. For me, standing on the ground where the only Cirvil War Battle fought in Indiana, was awesome. We hate to leave, but are heading to Louisivlle to see "Jersey Boys"! What a fun week. Thanks again.

Sue and Pat Conway - July 25 - 29, 2010
Beautiful, just beautiful! We are grain farmers from Northern Ohio on a romantic weekend. Only time of year that we can get away. The cabin is AWESOME! The fact that it is beam and mortar means it is authentic, and the fireplace and cathedral ceiling add to the beauty of the structure. Although Crystal and I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, you have to walk 1/2 mile to get to the woods, and there are no hills. This place has been so relaxing! We have been able to disconnect from the world. We arrived on Friday, a large thunderstorm moved thru that night. Saturday was sunny and 94 degrees and humid. Then another thunderstorm came through Saturday night. Forgot my fishing pole, that is my one regret! The lake is great, although we did troll the boat out for a while. We will definitely come back here! It is only an 8hr drive for us and that's not bad. Thanks so much!

Craig and Crystal Brause - July 16 & 17, 2010
Elayne, we really enjoyed our peace and quiet. We are going to spread the word about this place to everybody we know. We caught 44 fish Saturday. I caught more fish in one day than I have total all my life! Next time we come we are going to try and stay longer. By the time we checked in we only had one day to really fish. Next time we will fish first, eat and unpack later. (LOL) Homemade bread was good. Sorry we only got to see you for about 15 min. Thanks for movies and great time. This place was so clean when we walked in we were afraid to step inside. We do a lot of traveling and this is by far the most peaceful. We will see you in the near future with more family and friends. This was our weekend to celebrate our 4th anniversary. It was great! Words cannot describe it.

Tina and Scott Gill - July 10 & 11, 2010
Dear Elayne, it has been another wonderful, relaxing week here in "Paradise". Thank you so much for your kind hospitality - and thanks so much for the herb bread.....it was excellent!! We caught a few fish, and of course, the "Big One" got away. We really enjoyed playing dominoes...and we will be sure to find others to play the game when we return home. We look forward to our return visit. We will be in touch. Love, Peace and Blessing to you and Bailey.

Marie and Christine - June 6-12, 2010
Thank you Elayne. The second time around was as wonderful as the first. We had a terrific time seeing the sites - and catching fish. Zaida had 5 bass in one day, not bad for a novice. A relaxing and enjoyable week. We hope to see you again next year.

Zaida and Mike - Wheaton IL - June 1 thru 6, 2010
We had a wonderful time! The lake is beautiful. What a great way to spend our 28th wedding anniversary! The bread was delicious too! What a nice touch.

J P and Lou Mattingly - May 21-23, 2010
Thanks, Elayne. This is a great place and we really had fun with the bird watching. And the homemade bread goes without saying.

John and Rhonda Harmon - May 15-17, 2010
Thank you Elayne, for your hospitality. We have really appreciated the peaceful quietness of the cabin and the surrounding woods. Watching the birds at the feeder was particularly fun. Even though we never got around to using the lake, we have very much enjoyed ourselves This cabin is a good "base camp" for exploring some of the trails in Hoosier National Forest (Hemlock Cliff was amazing!) and the cabin is great for resting, relaxing and just being. Take care.

Greg and Amy - May 5-9, 2010

"Thanks for a wonderful, quiet weekend. The kids loved playing in the creek and playing checkers on the porch. We didn’t have a lot of luck fishing, too windy. Elayne, thanks for the wonderful homemade bread. It was great warmed up and drenched in butter. Thanks again."

--Brad, Lisa, Megan, Hunter and Trey (November - 09) IN
"Thanks so much Elayne. We had a wonderful weekend despite the cold temps. We were able to fish and catch 25-30 in about 45 degrees. We loved the bread, it was great. We can’t wait to come back!! We will see you again in 2010."

-- Bob and Diane Lane (October - 09) IN
"Beautiful, relaxing weekend! Had a wonderful time at cabin and lake. Hiked in Pioneer Mother's Memorial Forest and at Hemlock Cliffs. Ate at the Overlook in Leavenworth and walked around Corydon, visited West Baden. Overall, just a fun-filled but relaxing time. Plenty of opportunity to go and do or not do anything. Loved it!! Thanks for the hospitality and homemade bread. Hope to come back soon."

-- Shannon and Andy Beard (September, 2009) – IN
"Beautiful place to spend with good friends!! We surprised our husbands with a weekend away from it all. Enjoyed hiking, boating, swimming and just swinging on the porch listening to the rain and enjoying good conversation. Just taking it easy! I'd love to see the trees in the fall! Hope to be back."

-- Linda and Dan (September, 2009) – IN
"Quite simply, a wonderful week for both of us. This is a great place for R & R – beautiful and probably the quietest we have experienced. We enjoyed fishing and watching the wildlife, especially the birds – they put on a great show with no admission fee! Elayne, thank you for the absolutely delicious bread – it was good to the last crust! This is definitely a slice of heaven; we’d love to come back."

-- The Wolf family (May, 2009) – IL
"We had a wonderful time. You have a beautiful place and I hope we can come back soon. I had a perfect morning yesterday; a book, a coke and floating in the paddle boat by myself! I finally had good luck fishing. Thanks for everything. You have a vacation spot to be remembered."

-- The Jaracz family (April, 2009) – IN
"Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time. We are already planning our next visit. The pictures of the cabin on the internet do not do this place justice. Next time, we’ll remember our camera. God bless you."

-- The Cannon family (August, 2008) – IN
"I and my grandchildren had a great time! We even turned the oldest grandchild into a fisherwoman! We had a great time on the boat and jumping off the dock. The cabin and the setting are beautiful and we had everything we needed. I had a great time watching the birds and converted the kids to bird watching also. We really hate to leave. You have a wonderful place here. Best wishes to you and we hope to see you again! "

-- The Riley family (August, 2008)– IN
"Wow, what a beautiful and relaxing place!! The boys enjoyed playing checkers on the porch while watching the birds and squirrels. I got your puzzle out and worked on it and to my surprise; my husband kept sitting down and helping me until we got it done. The cabin is so cozy and welcoming with everything you would need provided. Thank you, you have thought of everything. It was refreshing to swim in the lake with the sights and sounds of nature around you. Along with the sounds of laughter and enjoyment of the boys swimming and jumping off the pier. As for us four novice fishermen, it couldn’t have been any easier to catch fish. The first morning we caught 8. Below are the pictures of the first 4 we caught. The second morning we caught 13. But being novices, all our fish were returned back to the lake to get bigger for next time. Thank you for the best week we have spent in Southern Indiana. "

-- The Updike family (August, 2008)-IN
"Thanks for another great visit at this little piece of paradise. Our children and grandchildren had a great time fishing and paddle boating, bird watching and hiking. This is such a great place for all our family. Thanks for sharing it with us and the memories we have made with our family during this time. God bless you until we see you again."

-- Pastor Randy and Cheryl Murphy (July, 2008)
"Jason and I had a wonderful time. He didn’t catch the “Big One” but he certainly tried. We’ll have to bring my wife down in the fall. I’m sure the hills and trees in color must be awesome!"

-- Ken Scheffler – IN (June 2008)

-- Kristen and Nathanoel Cole (June, 2008)
"Thank you for renting out your cabin to vacationers who needed a little peace, quiet and relaxation. The cabin is clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We have spent a lot of time just sitting on the front porch reading, doing Bible study or just watching the birds and squirrels. The fishing has been good. You have been a very gracious hostess – there if we needed anything, but not bothering us in any way. We hope to see you again."

-- God Bless and keep you,

"This has been such a wonderful getaway for us—we’ve had the best of both worlds—winter snow, spring rain and one beautiful spring day! The cabin is so homey and comfortable! We started calling it “home” after the third day. We loved catching a glimpse of deer drinking at the lake or running across the creek. We watched all of the colorful birds eat from the feeder. And the lake---the geese, the turtles and we caught fish for dinner! Elayne, thank you so much for your hospitality and the wonderful bread that awaited us upon our arrival."

-- William and Karla Tucker (March, 2008)– LA
